It was a sweltering mid-80s degrees and the Grit & Grain Podcast shuffled around the Chambers Bay grounds with 1,300 other sweaty beer tasters, shifting between booths emblazoned with names of the breweries invited by Tacoma Arts Live’s Brew Five Three Beer & Music Festival to serve the sunscreen’d masses. The Grit & Grain broadcasted live on Brew Five Three’s rock star stage with three guests we pulled from the festival grounds. In Episode 59, between our shouts to festival goers, we interview Tacoma Arts Live Volunteer Coordinator and Tacoma Beer Week Co-producer Gini Sommer, “Rainier: A Beer Odyssey” Co-Producer Justin Peterson, and CaskCades Co-owner Andy Gaine to discuss Tacoma Beer Week, Rainier Beer’s R-Bo commercial, and the Connect 4 game, respectively.
