Episode 39: Diamatris Winston

March 31, 2023

“That’s what got me excited. The options people have and the new audiences that can be drawn in to drink beer. Not for the sake of getting drunk, but just that community around beer,” says Diamatris Winston, co-owner of The Rusty Goat in downtown Tacoma. “It’s a lot of fun opportunities. People get together. At The Goat we get together and talk politics, or like Chris Rock and Will Smith and whose fault was it. Or talk to hip-hop groups, just all sorts of different stuff. So, people come to drink, and hang out, and meet new people and have random conversations around a diverse range of beverages.” Tune-in to Grit & Grain Episode 39 to hear Diamatris Winston discuss how he and his wife, Heidi, built the laid-back beer and coffee house centered around curated craft beer offerings, flavorful local coffee, and the people of Grit City at 712 Opera Alley, also known as Court C.
