Tucked away in the small town of Gorst, Wash., lies a brewery that represents just about everything there is to love about the beer community: a true community space with outstanding food, world-class beer, and an inspiring origin story.
Linda Sweet, owner and brewer at Deep Draft Brewing and quite possibly the most bad ass woman in the beer industry, joins us this week. After a long career in the Navy where she spent time as one of the few women in the nation to serve as captain of a battleship, she now spends her days running the reopened Prohibition-era dive, the WigWam, and brewing outstanding German Purity standard beer in the back under the tutelage of Michael Kaperick (Uncle Beer).
Please tune in for the story of how the WigWam reopened after being condemned for years and how she and her team turned tragedy into triumph as they worked to cement Deep Draft Brewing as a staple of the greater Kitsap community.
