E9 Brewing Sales Director Donovan Stewart is known by several names — Don, Coach, Don of Time, Donnyllama, and Snake Lix, just to name a few — but World-Wide Don could work too. Donovan has traveled the world, thanks to music and beer. The guitarist, who dabbles in bass and drums, has played with a dozen or so bands from his early days in Austin, Texas, to spreading sludge, grunge, and punk throughout the Northwest. When he met E9 Brewing Head Brewer Shane Johns and replaced Grit & Grain Podcast co-host Sean Jackson as assistant brewer at Tacoma’s first brewery, his travels expanded to beer festivals throughout the nation and Europe, including a return visit to Bamberg, Germany, where he was drinking Schlenkerla smokebiers at age 12. Tune-in to Grit & Grain Episode 28 for Don’s take on the beer scenes in Belgium, Austin, the Northwest, and his beloved E9 Brewing and Tacoma.
