In the Seattle Beer School Teachers’ Lounge you’ll find Jess Keller Poole — a Certified Cicerone, BJCP Judge, beer journalist, and podcast host on Cheers to Beers — and Shawna Cormier — director of Membership and Events for the Washington Brewers Guild, an Advanced Cicerone, BJCP Judge, co-host of Cheers to Beers, chair of the American Homebrewers Association’s Governing Committee, and Brewers Association Board of Directors representative. When the school bell rings, they send their students home and head off to host beer events around the greater Seattle area. Recently, they took a field trip to Tacoma to sit down for Grit and Grain Podcast Episode 52 to discuss their history, the Pacific Northwest beer industry, and their favorite beers.
