During Prohibition, a rumored blind pig called “The Skoog” poured beer and liquor for Tacomans who, first, could find the speakeasy, and second, knew the password or secret phrase. The Grit & Grain Podcast has titled our Tacoma beer history podcasts, “The Skoog Files,” as a nod to the Prohibition-era Tacoma secret watering hole tale. Grit & Grain launches our third Skoog Files this week discussing our actual visit to The Skoog. That’s right, we were dubbed the cat’s meow, were given the secret location, made it pass the wooden latch, and enjoyed giggle water in the subterranean lair donned with Tacoma beer artifacts. Tune-in to Grit & Grain Episode 31 to hear our Skoog experience, as well as our thoughts on Russian River Brewing back in the state, and multiple F-up stories.
